Planning Calendar for 4-H Events


  • Record Books will be due at the end of the month
  • Re-organize club
  • Practice for Public Presentation Day at monthly meetings – Have kids stand up and introduce themselves as well as tell something about themselves.
  • The Big E starts and runs for three weeks – There are some tickets available for 4-Hers and 4-H leaders for 4-H Day.
  • 4-H Fair materials will be mailed – This gives 4-Hers a chance to show off their projects and kicks off the 4-H year!
  • Cornucopia Fest at UConn on the Storrs campus


  • 4-H year officially begins – Enrollment materials must be completed online or sent to the 4-H office
  • Register for the Fair!
  • National 4-H Week (first week of the month)
  • 4-H National Youth Science Day
  • Fairfield County 4-H Fair – Encourage members to exhibit and attend workshops – Members must be registered to attend
  • Fall Festival at the 4-H Education Center at Auer Farm, Bloomfield, CT


  • 4-H enrollments must be completed by December 1
  • National 4-H Congress, Atlanta, GA – Trip over Thanksgiving holiday weekend
  • Volunteer training
  • Adventures in STEM Day


  • Fairfield County 4-H Spring Benefit Horse Show Ad Campaign begins – We pursue 100% participation. Clubs with 100% participation will receive 10% back.
  • Fairfield County 4-H Spring Benefit Horse Show Cover Contest begins
  • CT Recognition Forms are due – For teens interested in being selected to attend National 4-H Conference in March or Citizen Washington Focus in July
  • Prepare for Public Presentation Day


  • Register for Public Presentation Day in Fairfield County – Two locations; Bethel and Bridgeport
  • Continue to sell Ads for Fairfield County 4-H Fundraiser
  • Draw 4-H Horse Show covers for the contest
  • Giddy-up Games, Middlesex County Extension Center, Haddam
